A delegation from GLICO Group, led by its Group Managing Director, Mr. Andrew Achampong-Kyei paid a courtesy visit to the new Acting Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of the Petroleum Commission,
Ms. Emeafa Hardcastle.
The visit was to congratulate her on her recent appointment and to express appreciation to the Commission for its support in the facilitation of the Ghana Oil and Gas Insurance Pool (GOGIP) – an insurance association created to provide a platform for Ghanaian insurance companies to participate in the oil and gas insurance market in Ghana.
Ms. Hardcastle expressed her appreciation for the visit and reiterated the Commission’s commitment to fostering strong industry collaborations that align with its mandate of regulating and promoting Ghana’s upstream petroleum industry.
“We see good prospects in the industry, and we believe within the next year, there should be a lot more activities picking up.,” she said.
Further discussions during the engagement centred on the importance of insurance as well as how GLICO’s products and services could support the industry stakeholders.
As part of the visit, GLICO presented a one-year personal accident cover of GHS500,000 to Ms. Hardcastle as a goodwill gesture to support her regulatory leadership in Ghana’s upstream petroleum industry. According to Mr. Achampong-Kyei, this presentation symbolises GLICO’s commitment to support the industry and foster local content partnerships within the petroleum sector.
