The virtual session brought together key stakeholders from Ghana’s upstream petroleum industry, representatives from the Ghana Upstream Petroleum Chamber, and the MOEGT, to discuss expectations and opportunities associated with the upcoming conference.
The discussions focused on how Ghanaian companies can network and position themselves for partnerships and position themselves to tap into broader regional prospects.
In his opening remarks, Mr. Kwaku Boateng, Director of Economics and Local Content at the Commission, reiterated the purpose of the engagement and encouraged indigenous companies to take advantage of the early bird registration for AOW 2025.
Mr. Alfa Nasir Mohammed, Ag. Deputy Chief Executive Officer of the Petroleum Commission described the webinar as a critical precursor to the main conference.
“This webinar offers us the opportunity to engage meaningfully with key stakeholders across the energy value chain and explore how Ghanaian companies can position themselves to benefit from the event, through partnership development, exposure to innovative technologies, and enhanced business networks,” he stated.
He further emphasized that, as the regulator of Ghana’s upstream petroleum industry, and with a strategic vision to position Ghana as a competitive upstream hub, the Commission views Africa Oil Week as a key platform to promote the country’s hydrocarbon potential to a global audience.
Mr. David Ampofo, CEO of the Ghana Upstream Petroleum Chamber (GUPC), commended the Commission for its proactive role and expressed GUPC’s commitment to partnering closely on initiatives that promote industry growth. “We’re pleased to be part of this dialogue and look forward to further collaboration as Ghana prepares to host this landmark event,” he added.

The Conference which will be hosted in Ghana for the first time, after more than three decades of being held in South Africa is expected to host about 1,500 delegates expected from more than 70 countries.
