A delegation from the Petroleum Commission led by the CEO, Mr. Egbert Faibille Jnr. visited the 150 beneficiaries of the Accelerated Oil and Gas Capacity Building (AOGC)Programme receiving training at the Takoradi Technical University (TTU) last week to monitor the progress of the training. The purpose of the visit was to have an update on how the students were faring in their training and the challenges encountered.
After updates on progress of training had been provided, Mr. Faibille, thanked the management of TTU for their services. He also expressed gratitude for their commitment in ensuring that the participants are receiving the training skills needed to prepare them for various industries including oil and gas. In response, the PRO in charge of JTTC, Professor Bentil shared challenges with the students’ accommodation and hoped the Commission could be of assistance.
He added that the students’ assessment documents are being collated in preparation towards their industrial attachment. Speaking to the students, Mr. Faibille, thanked them for their dedication towards the training and not wasting taxpayers’ money.
“I do not want to make any far-reaching statement, I just want you to know that you are appreciated and thank you for your commitment and the fact that we will use you to change the narrative about job role localisation in Ghana’s upstream industry,” he said.
The training session for the programme is to end in December with the commencement of their industrial attachments in January.
A beneficiary, Ms. Emelia Nyumteye thanked the Commission on behalf of her colleagues for the enormous support and the encouragement provided during the training.
