Petroleum Commission Showcases Ghana’s Upstream Potential at Africa Energies Summit

The Petroleum Commission continues to roll out its 2025 investment promotion campaign with the global energy community, turning its focus towards the Africa Energies Summit (AES) in Central London, UK.
The Summit, is a platform that brings together influential voices in Africa, providing insights into the Continent’s changing energy landscape; connecting Africa’s decision makers with leaders in the global energy space seeking to partner and develop growing industries.
Leveraging on this platform, the Commission, led by its Ag. CEO, Ms. Emeafa Hardcastle participated in the AES to promote Ghana’s upstream petroleum potential, engaging international investors to explore opportunities in the industry.
These engagements explored Ghana’s policy direction, progressive reforms on the petroleum fiscal and regulatory regimes, upstream opportunities, untapped acreages, and Ghana’s readiness to attract and retain new investments across its upstream petroleum value chain.
“Our goal is to ensure that Ghana remains an attractive option for investors looking for emerging oil and gas destinations,” said Ms. Hardcastle. “We’re seeking investors that will contribute to the long-term development of our hydrocarbon resources in a manner that benefits both investors and the people of Ghana,” she added.
As part of the summit, the Commission hosted strategic meetings with about eleven upstream companies including CNOOC, BP, Shell, TG GeoPartners, Noble Drilling, SLB, Murphy Exploration and Production among others.
It is expected that these engagements will renew investor confidence and exploration interest in Ghana’s upstream petroleum industry.
The London summit, which brings together stakeholders from across the world has been a platform for Ghana to assert its place as one of Africa’s promising hydrocarbon destinations.
