SPE Ghana Section Seeks Deepened Partnership with Petroleum Commission

A delegation from the Ghana Section of the Society of Petroleum Engineers (SPE) has paid a courtesy call on the Acting Chief Executive Officer of the Petroleum Commission, Ms. Emeafa Hardcastle.
 
Discussions at the meeting revolved around opportunities for deepening the collaboration between  SPE and the Commission. On behalf of the delegation, SPE Ghana Section Chair, Mr. Derrick Klutsey, expressed their appreciation for the strong working relationship that has existed between the two entities over the years.
 
One of the highlights shared was the productive use of the Commission’s facilities for various training programmes, seminars, and events aimed at building capacity for players within the upstream petroleum sector.
Mr. Klutsey further reiterated their commitment to supporting the Commission’s objectives in the area of capacity building and technical knowledge sharing. Further discussions were held on the possibility of organising joint events, workshops, and conferences to further enhance industry knowledge and collaboration among key stakeholders in the sector.
 
In her remarks, Ms. Hardcastle acknowledged the vital role SPE plays in the growth and development of the petroleum industry in Ghana. She emphasized the Commission’s commitment to fostering strong partnerships with key industry stakeholders, especially those involved in the technical and educational development of professionals in the sector.
 
“We appreciate your continuous efforts to create opportunities for knowledge sharing. We acknowledge that this can enhance technical and professional competence of professionals in the industry. We look forward to more of such partnerships in the future,” she said.
 
The meeting concluded with a shared commitment to ensuring that the SPE and the Petroleum Commission continue to work together to create an enabling environment for the growth of Ghana’s petroleum industry.
