The Deputy Managing Director of Tullow Ghana Limited (TGL), Madam Cynthia Lumor, has stated that the programme organised by the Tullow Supply Chain Academy has proven to be a great Local Content initiative to ensure the development of Indigenous Ghanaian Companies (IGCs) in the upstream petroleum sector.
She said this at the Tullow Supply Chain Academy Graduation & Awards Ceremony held last week at the Fiesta Royale Hotel.
“I am impressed with the record of completion of the programme and we appreciate your hourly participation and commitment to finishing the course,” she said.
The Academy was launched last year in April to provide a 12-month customised training for 90 indigenous companies through an established icloud-based chain learning platform.
Through this, 85 beneficiary companies and 11 staff of the Petroleum Commission were granted a license to pursue a 50-course-hours of training and assessment test across five curriculum pillars.
During the Graduation and Awards Ceremony, Staff from the Petroleum Commission and 40 participants from local supply companies who participated in the year long programme were awarded certificates and plaques in completing the various modules which included, Procurement, Finance, Supply Chain , Power Skills, Digitalization and Cyber Security.
Prior to the presentation of Awards, Manager Contracts Administration at the Petroleum Commission, Ms. Judith Adwoba Blay, a beneficiary of the program thanked Tullow for the training.
“From my colleagues at the Commission and the beneficiary companies, as new ambassadors of the Tullow Supply Chain Academy Programme, I urge all indigenous companies who have not yet participated in the programme to take advantage of the programme for its enormous benefits,”
she added.
On behalf of Director Local Content, Mr. Kwaku Boateng, the Ag. Director, Operations, of the Commission, Mr. Henry Mensah in a closing remark extended a warm gratitude to Tullow for the consistency in delivering a beneficial Local Content initiative which support the development of IGCs.
“The Commission will continue to provide support and commitment to this noble cause, and we look forward to the second phase of the Supply Chain Academy Programme”, he added.
