A seven-member Governing Board to steer affairs of the Petroleum Commission has been sworn in for a second term. At a ceremony which took place at the Ministry of Energy, the new board members were tasked to ensure that the Commission achieves its goals and consolidate Ghana’s position as an attractive destination for investment in the oil and gas hub for petroleum operations in the West Africa Sub Region.
Addressing the Governing Board, a Deputy Minister of Energy, responsible for Finance and Infrastructure Hon. Joseph Cudjoe who inaugurated the Board, said the COVID19 pandemic has created challenges for the Commission’s operations and revenue targets coupled with the suspension of several programmes and activities.
“It is my expectation that the Board will help management of the Commission to implement strategies that will mitigate the effect of the pandemic on the operations of the Commission”. Hon. Joseph Cudjoe stated. The Deputy Minister of Energy commended the Commission for its achievements in positioning Ghana’s upstream petroleum sector as one of the favourable destinations for investment. The Board members undertook the Oath of Office and Oath of Secrecy.
